Effective copy is compelling copy, and I believe that being persuasive as a copywriter draws considerably from the hook 'em-n-hold 'em approach that is a trademark characteristic of good creative writing. The challenge is to be engaging and informative, yet brief and concise in order to retain impatient readers. All while still delivering the message with all of the 'oomph' required of it. Much of this comes from the writer's syntax and diction choices, using sentence structure, phrasing and word choices to add 'punch' to the copy while still maintaining a logical and clear progression of ideas. I really enjoy it, and seeing my work in print has a shine to it that never fades.
